The "Writer's" Road Isn't Always Paved In Gold.

So... You wake up one day and it hits you....

You can't get the voices out of your head....

It seems like every moment of every day there is someone in the back of your mind that's speaking to you--calling you. Your characters are trying to tell you something. They are telling you that they need to be written--that "you" as the writer need to breathe life into them.. And that's where your journey down literary avenue begins.

I don't think anyone ever fully prepares themself for the hardwork that comes with writing a novel. Yes, you know that you love to write...It's your passion...your joi de vivre.But have you prepared yourself for the long and winding road ahead?

It doesn't just take getting the story all written down. It takes hours of perfecting and months of revisions. I have even heard of some writers who have worked on their piece for years before finally finishing it.

Then... You've finally perfected your piece and submitted it your agent/editor and the waiting begins... Or you start your querying process...

Not everyone's novel is going to sell the first time around either... You may have to write two or three more before you finally get the call..."We have an offer."

What's important is that you keep writing. My mother always says Laur, hard work pays off and that couldn't be anymore true.
