If I Can't Have You...I Don't Want Nobody, Baby!

Friday, February 3, 2012
TGIF! TGIF! TGIF!

Good morning everyone!

I hope everyone has had a fantastic week! YaY!

Today I'm excited to celebrate the release of my steamy, YA Romance - IF I Can't Have You...

Yay!

So I'm going to be sharing another snippet with you :)

There are two major reasons why I stayed behind; one I don’t want to push and shove my way through all the people and two because I might miss an opportunity to see and talk to Drake without Whit or Elliot being around. When it comes to the guy you’re crushing on, three is a crowd, but four is a sold out concert. There’s no intimacy when you’ve got to share a conversation four ways.

A flash of gold glimmers in my peripheral vision and I see Drake as he shoves his way through the crowd. He’s headed straight for me and instead of being bold, I do the exact opposite, I clam up. I can’t understand why I’m so nervous now. I mean, we’re not in a remote setting or anything. We’re swimming in a sea of people. What do I say? What do I do? How do I act? And how did I manage to play it so cool when I was on the beach with him earlier today? Maybe I was at ease because Elliot was there too.

“Kid!”

He’s only inches away from me now and suddenly I feel like I have TMJ and some surgeon has just laced wire through my gums to correct it.

“So you made it,” he says softly as he plants his feet across from me.

I nod. He smells like the ocean mixed with his own personal brand of cologne. He’s wearing a white cotton button up shirt with the first couple buttons undone and a sheer foray of perspiration glistens on his bronzed skin. I stare at the opening. I want to run my fingers along the wetness. I want to slip and slide against his essence.

The fact that I can’t speak makes this encounter awkward. I need a drink. Yeah, that’s it. Once I have a drink or two I’ll loosen up. I think.

Drake smiles at me and inside I’m a smoothie, a bunch of fruit and ice thrown into a blender, spinning. I’m being crushed together to make a delicious concoction, a delicious concoction that Drake will want to devour in one gulp.

Drake moves closer and my spine stiffens. I don’t know what to do. He rests his warm hands on my shoulder blades and his touch sets me on fire. And I’m so pissed at myself for blowing this moment.

For the last three years this is all I’ve thought about. For the last three years this is all I’ve wanted. All I’ve wanted is for Drake to notice me and feel for me the way I’ve felt for him. I finally have my chance and I’m letting my nerves get the best of me. Inside I’m screaming; you moron! Stop standing here like a twit and say something! Do something! But it doesn’t matter if I tell myself to do it. It doesn’t matter how many times I scream at myself to make a move. I know I won’t.

Drake’s lips are against my ear. His warm breath caresses my earlobe and I sigh completely consumed by my desire for him. “You look really pretty,” he whispers.
The word ‘thank you’ is lodged in my throat being kept down by my nerves and a wad of saliva as thick as honey. I want so much more from this moment. I need so much more from this moment. Inside I’m begging for his kiss. I crave it. I’m a Drake kiss-a-holic. Just send me to rehab already.

I hope you guys enjoyed this snippet and I hope you get a chance to check out If I Can't Have You!

Have a GRRREEEAAT weekend!

Cheers <3

New Book, New Cover, and some news!

Monday, January 16, 2012
Morning readers!

So.... it's been forever since I've written a post.

First off I have a new YA Romance coming out! YaY! I've pasted the cover below & blurb... I'm super psyched about it.

One is lonely. Three is a crowd.

Robin Mason has never been the same since Drake Robertson, a hot lifeguard at her family's yearly vacation spot saves her from drowning. Ever since that day she's never let another guy hold a candle to him. She's idolized him and has been waiting for the day where they can go from Facebook friends to more. Much, much more.

Flash-forward three years and Robin isn't the same tween Drake rescued from the deep blue sea. She's college bound, curvy, and finally ready to take what she wants most--Drake.

But not if Drake's brother Elliot has anything to say about it.

Robin is torn between what's right and what's wrong, her head and her heart, and two brothers that are simply irresistible. But who will she choose? Safe, sweet, Elliot? Or the hot, smoldering, Drake?

Two brothers. One Girl. One choice. So which will it be?

Also.... I'm going to take Asphodel down. There are some errors I've been made aware of and I'm going to be taking it down in the next week to make some corrections to it.

Lastly, after If I Can't Have You comes out on Jan 31, I'm taking a much needed break and the first book that will be released out of the one's that have sequels will be the sequel to A Whisper To A Scream, Yelling Out Loud on March 20.

On the agent home front I've some awesome news to share soon, but as of right now I have to keep everything hush-hush. BUT.... I will say that I'm going to be accepting queries for romance novels. Both adult and YA are welcome.

AND.... I really really wish some of you would query me with some dark novels. Like YA horror or suspense. Unfortunately, I'm not accepting anymore Paranormal Romances at this time.

I think that's about it.

I hope everyone has a stellar week!

Fly Me To The Moon......New novel teaser.

Wednesday, September 14, 2011
Do you ever get an idea for a novel and it stays with you and it feels like you'll never shake it?

That's how I feel with my current WIP. I can't shake it. Maybe that's because it's kind of steamy. And I've never tackled writing a steamy novel. So this is kinda fun for me.

How many of you love old movies? I always have. Probably always will. There's something special about them. The way everything is portrayed. Society. Culture. Romance.

One of my all-time favorites is Splendor In The Grass. It stars Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty. And if you haven't seen it, watch it because it's one of those movies that sticks with you. And I could watch it repeatedly and never get tired of it.

Anywho, its about a young couple in high school, an obsession, a changing view of relationships in the world. And lastly, a twisted tragic love story... A good tagline to describe it. Love makes you crazy.

Where am I going with this? That movies reminds me of my current WIP... Of course the book is different, but it is about that crazy, obsessive kind of love.

And my inspiration, aside from thinking of the move. Stay by Sugarland. The song is amazing and sometimes it just takes the smallest thing to send a writer's imagination reeling....

And it seems like Mine is reeling more often than not.... LOL... So here's a teaser and a picture of the cover for....

He Loves Me... He Loves You Not.

As the tip of his tongue brushes against the roof of my mouth, I’m seeing fireworks. An explosion of colors. Brilliant and beautiful. And the explosions of beauty leave a trail of colored smoke in the sky. And a trail of colored smoke in my heart. Red. Bright red. The color of passion. The color of love.

He pulls away. “Come back.” I’m panting. His kisses knock the wind out of my lungs. I crave him, like chocolate, I want to taste him.

My legs are wrapped around his back and he places both of his hands on my cheeks and just stares. Two sets of blue eyes, gazing intensely into one another's. We’re gone. Swimming in seas of blue on some deserted uncharted island.

I’m fascinated. I can’t move. He’s a hypnotist. One snap of his fingers and I’ll be clucking like a chicken.

We’re both breathing. Soft and slow. And he reaches up and yanks the hair-tie from my hair. “You don’t know what you do to me.”

Then his lips caress mine. It’s only a brush, but the warmth overheats every part of me. Leaning back, my elbow bumps into the power button on the dryer and the old appliance starts moving. Spinning. Spinning like my head. Like my heart.

My hands are in his hair and his arms wrap around my waist tighter. I know what Henry does to me. I’m space bound. A rocket about to blast off. And I want Henry to send me to the moon.

Famished Release Day & Borders Bonanza!!!!!!

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

So the day has finally arrived!!!! And let me just say that is has been crazy!!!

But it's official Famished has been released, yay!!!!

Tomorrow I'll be announcing the winners of the Famished giveaway!

There is no United States. There is no world. An asteroid has destroyed what the human race knew as earth and The Great Famine has wiped out most of the surviving human population. For the few remaining survivors, food is scarce-- precious--a luxury. A luxury that most humans can’t find.

Seventeen year old Georgina Carver is fortunate. She’s survived the destruction. She eats three times a day while the rest of humanity is plagued by The Great Famine. And she’s safe, hidden away in an underground colony with her family and several other families of survivors.

All of that changes the day she’s randomly selected to be a gatherer. Georgina must leave her safe yet simple world and venture out into a world unknown. A vast, dangerous, destroyed world that could literally eat her alive.

After Georgina is severely injured, her life begins to fall apart. She can’t remember how she got home or what happened to her while she was on the new earth. The boy she is crushing on avoids her and she keeps having visions that involve an unknown person with violet eyes.

As Georgina begins to unravel the truth, it doesn’t take her long to figure out that maybe her safe yet simple life isn’t that safe at all.

I did something a little different with Famished...

In the back of the book, are summaries and the first three pages of my next two novels. I thought that would be really cool... And unique.

Famished is available in ebook and paperback formats.

Ebook price~ 1.50 Paperback 9.99

Currently you can find the ebook on Barnes & Noble for the Nook. On Smashwords and Tomorrow morning on Amazon.com for the Kindle.

The paperback version will be out next week and available pretty much everywhere! YaY!

And now for the sad part Borders. :(

It's the only bookstore in my area. (B&N is 30 mins away.) And I felt like crying as walked through the store and noticed the empty cafe and half-full bookselves.

But.... Despite my depressed feeling, I did buy some pretty amazing books. And I'm hoping to get some more before the store shuts down.**Tear** Here's what I got....

1. The Fat Girl by: Marilyn Sachs(This is the one I'm currently reading.)
2. XVI by: Julia Karr ( I have heard nothing but great things about this one!)
3. The Goddess Test by: Aimee Carter (Where are all of my mythological re-telling lovers? I hope this doesn't disappoint!)
4. Rumors by: Anna Gobbersen (Yeah, I'm going to totally admit that I bought this book for the cover, but.... It sounds like a great read too!)

Check out Famished and some more of the awesome books I found!

Cheers!
