When To Shelf Your WIP....

Thursday, August 11, 2011
I can across an interesting article yesterday that I'd like to share... I've pasted the link here.

We all know that sometimes the writing world can be brutal. Sometimes you feel like you're never going to get there. You question yourself and your skills. You might even think about throwing in the towel.

And what if you believe in your project? Should you toss it to the side?

Not necessarily. The article above proves that self-belief and determination is better than giving up. Especially when you're in search of an agent.

I know it's frustrating sometimes, and you might feel like you're never going to accomplish what you've set out to do. The important thing is to hang in there and keep pushing forward.

Whether it takes you years or months to get where you want to be, you will get there. Take it from the words of the Best Selling author featured in the article.

When is the right time to shelf your WIP?

The answer is....

Never.

Cheers!

  1. It's really sad (as well as funny) that she had to lie about working on her MS! I'm glad I don't feel like I have to hide the obsession! :)

  1. I don't think a manuscript ever needs to be shelved--reworked maybe, but not shelved.

  1. THANK YOU for this. Today was the day to read this message. At least for me. :)

  1. I'm glad to hear you say this because I need encouragement to continue and not give up. Thanks.

  1. I think that what most often happens with me is that something gets set aside for newer, shinier projects.

BUT I will never permanently shelve ANYTHING.
