My 2011 Number 1 YA Pick..

Friday, January 21, 2011

With so many great books being released in 2011, I'm sure you're thinking it's nearly impossible to choose a favorite. I was nearly thinking the same thing until I heard about this book.

Love is a feeling that's so tragic, yet at the same time so beautiful. It centers around a good many things in our world today. I honestly feel like we are so lucky to have it. Imagine what our world would be like without love. Imagine having the one feeling, that makes every nerve ending in your body feel like a live wire taken away.

That's where my number one pick for the book I can't wait to read in 2011 comes in.

Bring on the Delirium....

Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn’t understand that once love - the deliria - blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the governments demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.

But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.(summary from goodreads)

I'm a sucker for this kind of book. Maybe it's because I'm a hopeless romantic. And in all honesty, I don't know how I'd function in a world without love. I adore the chaos it adds to your emotions. I love the butterflies you get in the pit of your stomach. So for me, love's advocate, this book has already sucked the cash right out of my pocket because I'll be buying it the day it's released.

Cheers!
