Define Believe..

The definition of believe is: to accept as true, genuine, or real. Do I believe in myself, yes? Do I believe in my writing? One hundred percent, yes. In an industry where struggling writers are a dime a dozen, you have to have self- belief. I can't stress how important that is. NEVER give up. Even if you get a million rejection letters. NEVER, ever give up. You crafted your literary masterpiece and trust me when I say, someone, somehwere will like it. Fellow writers, for me giving up has never been an option and it shouldn't be for you either. KEEP WRITING! Here's a quote for you to think about over the weekend.

Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe. ~Gail Devers~

I also like the Sylvia Plath quote: "The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt." Ironically, I think a lot of university writing programs breed self-doubt in the young writers who come to them to become published authors. There are few things more brutal to one's ego than the creative-writing workshop. Then again, perhaps that organized brutality begins to grow the rhinoceros skin one needs to deflect all the rejection notices.
